Christian Poupart

Christian Poupart is the Vice President of Legal and Government Relations as well as the Corporate Secretary at Vention. Christian has held this position for 1 year. Prior to working at Vention, Christian worked at Bombardier Inc. for 17 years and 2 months. At Bombardier, Christian held various positions such as Head of Legal Services, Vice President of Legal Services and Contracts, Global Procurement and IP, Sr. Director of Legal Services and Contracts, Director of Legal Services and Contracts, Sr. Counsel, and Legal Counsel. As Head of Legal Services, Christian was in charge of global strategic initiatives for Bombardier, which included major M&A transactions. Christian also oversaw all legal and contractual matters for the Bombardier Aerostructures and Engineering Services division and the Global Procurement function across all business divisions. Christian built a team of approximately 40 Legal Counsel and Contract Specialists that were spread out across Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom in order to improve services to the business. Additionally, they managed the IP group responsible for developing, protecting, and enforcing Bombardier Aviation’s IP rights. Christian was also responsible for developing and driving legal strategies that supported Bombardier’s business objectives; strategies which resulted in significant gains for the organization, including substantial reductions in the manufacturing costs of major aircraft programs. Christian played a key role in the successful conclusion of major M&A transactions, including the creation of the Joint Venture with Airbus and the divestiture of the CSeries aircraft, the sale of the Q400 and of the CRJ aircraft programs. Before working at Bombardier Inc., Christian worked as a Lawyer-Litigation Consultant at Ogilvy Renault for 4 months and as a Lawyer at Desjardins Ducharme for 2 years and 9 months. Christian started their career as an Articling Student at Ogilvy Renault for 7 months.

Christian Poupart attended the Université de Montréal from 1995 to 1998, where they studied law.
