Stuart Phillips has over 25 years of work experience, starting their career as an Auditor at PwC from 1998 to 2003. Stuart then joined npower as a Management Accounting Manager from 2003 to 2005, before taking on roles such as SME Gross Margin Manager and Commercial Accounting Manager until 2008.
In 2008, Stuart joined Centrica where they held various positions including Head of Finance BGBS, Head of Finance Plumbing and Drains, Head of Business Performance Management British Gas, and Group Financial Controller. Stuart also served as CFO Direct Energy Business, CFO British Gas Services and Solutions, and VP Finance - Engineering at Centrica.
During their time at Centrica, Stuart was responsible for managing large-scale financial operations, delivering improved forecasting and insights, and supporting business growth through acquisitions and product launches. Stuart also served as a Non-Executive Director at Brackenburn Ltd, providing expertise and guidance during the start-up phase of the business.
In 2023, Stuart will be joining Venterra Group as VP Finance - Engineering.
Stuart Phillips has a diverse education history. Stuart obtained their FCA qualification in Accounting and Finance from ICAEW from 1998 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed their BSc degree in Agriculture with a focus on Farm Business Management from Newcastle University, spanning from 1995 to 1998. Stuart's earlier education took place at Dean Close School, where they attended from 1984 to 1995, although the specific degree and field of study for this period are unknown.
In terms of additional certifications, Stuart obtained a certificate in "Achieving High-Performance During Times of Stress" from LinkedIn in December 2022.
