Matt Karesh

Matt Karesh has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Matt began their career as an Engineering Intern at Slingshot Product Development Group, where they conducted research, design, prototyping, and testing of new products. Matt then worked as a Research Student at GT Advanced Propulsion Laboratory, focused on studying turbulent flame speeds. Following this, they joined Syzygy Memory Plastics as a Research Student, where they specialized in developing shape memory polymers.

Matt then transitioned to Caterpillar Inc., where they held various positions in the Leadership and Technical Development Program. Matt served as an Associate Design Engineer, handling analysis, resolving issues, and working on improvement projects for generators. Matt also worked as an Customer Service Representative, Test and Validation Engineer, and FEA Engineer for Caterpillar.

After their time at Caterpillar, Matt joined GE Aviation as a Design Engineer, overseeing the hardware ownership of high-pressure turbine components. Matt later became a Lead Design Engineer and then moved to GE Additive, where they held positions as an AddWorks Lead Engineer and AddWorks Advanced Lead Engineer.

Most recently, Matt joined Velo3D as a Technical Sales Engineer, Technical Business Development Account Manager, Director of Business Development, and finally, as the Director of Business Development and Sales, Southeast. Their extensive and diverse work experience has equipped him with a strong skill set in engineering, research, development, technical sales, and business development.

From 2006 to 2011, Matt Karesh attended the Georgia Institute of Technology and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
