Steven Wood serves as the Senior Director of Neuromorphic Technologies Development at the College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering at UAlbany since August 2023, overseeing projects related to the Air Force Research Laboratory NeuroPipes Research Grant. Holding multiple advisory and leadership roles, including Founding Advisory Board Member at the Association of Commercial Space Professionals and Senior of Counsel at Vela Wood, Steven has also worked extensively as an attorney specializing in space, startup, and intellectual property law since 2010. Previous positions include Senior Director at SUNY Polytechnic Institute and Associate Director for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at The Research Foundation for SUNY, where contributions included fostering technology commercialization and mentoring startup initiatives. Steven holds advanced degrees in Air and Space Law, Electrical Engineering, and Technology Commercialization Law, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Geology.
