Nicolas Hurtado has been working in the technology industry since 2012. Nicolas began their career as a Senior Systems Analyst at Lennar in 2012. In this role, they assisted in R&D efforts related to home automation technologies and was responsible for the design, engineering, development, and deployment of many solutions across the enterprise. In 2015, they were promoted to Futurist, Director IoT and Futurist, Manager of Research and Development at Lennar. In these roles, they were responsible for facilitating and driving Lennar's technology vision as it relates to its IoT/connected home strategy and driving thought leadership through innovation, vision, and research and development of new connected products and other tech. Nicolas also forecasted scenarios of future states based on the intersection of technology innovations and broader trends. In 2016, they joined the Wi-Fi Alliance as the Vice Chair of the Wi-Fi Data Elements Standardization Task Group and the Chair of the Wi-Fi Certified Home Design Task Group. In 2020, they joined Veea Inc. as the Vice President of IoT Strategy and the Senior Director of IoT.
