Dimitris S. has a wealth of experience in the technology industry. Dimitris started their career as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Cruz in 2008. In 2012, they began a Distributed Systems and Performance Internship at VMware, followed by a Cloud Resource Management Internship in 2013. In 2014, they became a Member of Technical Staff at VMware. In 2016, they moved to IBM Research - Almaden Research Center as a Research Staff Member, where they co-authored 12 papers and 6 patents on systems, and was instrumental in the creation of IBM Spectrum Scale Container Native Storage. In 2021, they became an Engineer at Redpanda Data. Additionally, they co-founded IBM's Student Workshop on Systems and Cloud in 2019.
Dimitris S. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz between 2008 and 2014. Dimitris also obtained an MMath in Mathematics from the University of St Andrews between 2004 and 2008. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Organizational Analysis from Coursera in March 2019.
