Calvin Fine is the current Head of Market Operations at VECKTA. Prior to this, they were the Head of Procurement, Projects at Metro Trains Melbourne, where they led procurement for Metro Trains portions of Melbourne's "Big Build" of transport infrastructure. This included Melbourne Metro Tunnel and Level Crossing Removal Authority projects. Their team was accountable for category management, supplier selection & negotiation, risk mitigation and governance across the portfolio.
Before their time at Metro Trains Melbourne, Calvin was the Global Lead, Supply Strategy at MMG Limited from October 2013 to December 2019. In this leadership role, they were accountable for maximising the value obtained from MMG’s ~USD 2Bn in spend with 3rd party suppliers. Calvin and their team changed long-term market dynamics in MMG's favour, leveraging the unique competitive advantages MMG had as a Chinese owned, internationally focused base metals miner. The primary team was based in Melbourne, with project secondees across China, South America and Africa. Areas of focus for Calvin and their team included capital investment evaluation, market specific economic analysis (supply/demand forecasting), low cost country sourcing (particularly China), and business transformation implementation.
Calvin Fine has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Melbourne Business School, a B.Ec. in Economics from the University of Adelaide, and a Bachelor of Engineering - BE in Chemical Engineering from the University of Adelaide.
Calvin Fine reports to Gareth Evans, CEO. They work with David Ochoa - CFO, Brian Noel - Head of Project Development, and Dominique Le Gree - Project Manager.
