Ilka Baert is a seasoned professional in sustainable supply chain management with extensive experience in driving corporate sustainability initiatives across various organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Sustainable Supply Chain Management at Vattenfall since April 2017, Ilka focuses on identifying and addressing key sustainability issues in procurement. Previously, Ilka held roles including Senior Advisor for Corporate Sustainability at Vattenfall, where responsibilities included implementing supplier codes of conduct and evaluating compliance. Prior experience includes senior positions at Sandvik AB and IKEA, where Ilka managed sustainability strategies, conducted supplier audits, and developed environmental frameworks. Ilka holds an M.B.A. from the University of Exeter, a Master's in Environmental Science from Lund University, and a Master's in Chinese, Oriental Cultures & Languages from the State University of Ghent.
