Yinghui Wang

Senior Staff Engineer at Vastai Technologies

Yinghui Wang is a Senior Staff Engineer at Vastai Technologies since 2021. Prior to this, they were a System Analyst at Thales from 2018 to 2021. Between 2014 and 2018, they held a Postdoctoral Researcher (Part-time) position at McMaster University where they designed a vehicle detection pipeline using support vector machine (SVM) with histogram of oriented gradients (HOG), binned color and color histogram features, and implemented Kalman filter and sliding window search to track the vehicle. Yinghui also implemented Canny edge detection and Hough transform to extract lane lines. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Machine Learning Teaching Assistant and Trainer at WeCloudData. From 2009 to 2014, they were a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Northwestern Polytechnical University, where they conducted research on sensor resource management to support tracking and fusion by multimodal sensors, and implemented CFAR detection, Kalman Filter, EKF, UKF, Particle Filter, IMM, PDA, JPDA, JIPDA, MHT, path optimization and motion planning using information-based (Fisher information matrix) objective functions under motion/placement region constraints, solvers for Nonlinear programming, Mixed-integer nonlinear programming, Combinatorial optimization, and Heuristic and metaheuristic algorithms.

Yinghui Wang has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from McMaster University (2014-2018). Prior to that, they obtained their Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University (2011-2014). Yinghui also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University (2007-2011). In addition, Yinghui Wang has obtained certificates from Udacity and Coursera Course Certificates in Artificial Intelligence for Robotics, Introduction to Computer Vision, Self-Driving Car Engineer Nanodegree, Machine Learning, Neural Networks for Machine Learning, and The Data Scientist’s Toolbox.
