Clinical Genomics Scientist at Variantyx

Maithraeyi Annamalai, Ph.D., MS., MSC, has a diverse work experience history in the fields of clinical genomics, molecular biotechnology, embryology, and andrology. Maithraeyi currently holds the position of Clinical Genomics Scientist at Variantyx since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Molecular Biotechnologist at Greenwood Genetic Center from November 2018 to July 2019. In this role, they conducted genomic diagnostic testing in a clinical laboratory environment and performed genetic variant analysis using various mutation databases. Before that, they interned as an Embryology Intern at Diamond Institute for Infertility and Menopause in 2011, and as an Andrology Intern at Reproductive Centre of Central New Jersey (RCCNJ) in 2011. Maithraeyi also had a brief training as a Genetics and Molecular Biology Trainee at Frontier Lifeline Pvt. Ltd. in 2009. Throughout their work experience, Maithraeyi has demonstrated strong communication, analytical, and technical skills in the field of genomics and molecular biology.

Maithraeyi Annamalai holds a Doctor's Degree in Genetics from Clemson University, which they pursued from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Clinical Embryology and Andrology from Eastern Virginia Medical School, completing their studies between 2013 and 2015. In 2010 and 2011, Maithraeyi participated in a Certificate program in Embryology at the American Institute of Medical Sciences & Education. Maithraeyi also holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology from the University of Madras, which they obtained from 2004 to 2006. Additionally, Maithraeyi completed an Industry Diploma in Contract Research and Clinical Trials from the Bioinformatics Institute of India in 2004 and 2005. Their academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Microbiology from the University of Madras, which they received in 2001 after completing their studies from 2001 to 2004.
