Fredrik Sønstabø has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Fredrik is currently working at Vår Energi as an Area Development Manager for the North Sea region since November 2022. Prior to their current role, they served as the North Region Manager at Vår Energi from December 2019 to November 2022.

Before joining VÃ¥r Energi, Fredrik worked at ExxonMobil for almost two decades. Fredrik'sroles at ExxonMobil included Asset Manager for the North region from February 2016 to December 2019, Business Unit Consultant for Mid Norway from February 2014 to February 2016, Operations Superintendent and Asset Manager for Jotun & Sigyn from May 2011 to February 2014, HSE&S Director for North Sea Production from January 2009 to April 2011, Subsea & Integrity Supervisor for North Sea Production from January 2005 to December 2008, Facilities Engineering Supervisor from March 2004 to January 2005, and Project Manager from February 2002 to February 2004.

Prior to their tenure at ExxonMobil, Fredrik held various engineering and supervisory positions at Esso Norway from April 1996 to April 2002. Fredrik began their career as a Scientist in the Process Safety Department at Christian Michelsen Research from March 1994 to April 1996.

Fredrik also has military experience, having served in the Royal Norwegian Navy as a Military Police Sergeant from January 1993 to March 1994.

Fredrik Sønstabø completed their education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 1988 to 1992, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, they received training at the ExxonMobil Training Centre, and attended INSEAD and the Thunderbird School of Global Management, although it is unclear when they attended these institutions and what degree or field of study they pursued.
