John Short is a highly experienced executive in the steel and metals industry, currently serving as CEO of Boomer Commodities since September 2016, where expertise in risk, strategy, and financing is applied specifically to the steel sector. In March 2023, John Short took on the role of Managing Partner at Vanilla Steel, focusing on the development of innovative brokerage solutions. Previous positions include CEO of UD Industrial at Ushdev International Limited, overseeing a substantial portfolio, and roles as a trader and director at prominent firms such as Trafigura and Newedge. John Short began their career at Stemcor Dubai and holds an MBA from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a BA Hons in Geography from The University of Manchester.
