Derek Anderson is an experienced electronic repair technician currently employed at Vancouver Public Schools since June 2022, focusing on the maintenance and repair of electronic systems throughout the district. Prior to this role, Derek served as the President of Ample Electric Service, Inc. from July 2019 to June 2022, specializing in low voltage installation and service. Derek also held several positions in the fire protection and alarm sectors, including Alarm Manager at Express Fire Systems and Owner Direct Sales and Service at Johnson Controls Fire Protection LC. With a career beginning in 1994 as an apprentice at Christenson Electric, Derek completed a four-year IBEW/NJATC apprenticeship and has accumulated extensive technical knowledge through roles at SimplexGrinnell and EC Company, where Derek advanced to Field Supervisor while honing expertise across multiple licenses in Oregon and Washington. Derek holds an Associate's degree in Low Voltage Electrical and has completed relevant coursework and training in computer science.
