Peter Maguire is an experienced library professional with a robust background in management, community engagement, and digital literacy development. Currently serving as Library Manager at Vancouver Island Regional Library since March 2019, Peter supervises staff, implements safety protocols, and drives community consultations to meet customer needs. Previous roles include Branch Supervisor at Oakville Public Library, where Peter improved circulation procedures and customer service training, and Training and Communications Librarian at BiblioCommons, focused on training library staff in library software. Peter has also held positions at Toronto Public Library and Edmonton Public Library, where responsibilities included providing reference services, planning educational programs, and collaborating with community organizations. Peter Maguire holds a Master of Library & Information Science from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Education from the same institution, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University.
