Joelle Samson is an experienced library professional with a strong background in various leadership and service roles. Currently serving as Library Manager at Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) since March 2017, Joelle has previously held positions such as Customer Services Librarian focusing on Children and Youth Services. Prior experience includes multiple roles at the TNRD Library System from January 2010 to March 2017, including Acting Head of Outreach Services and Head of Reference. Joelle began the library career as a Library Assistant at Edmonton Public Library from 2007 to 2010. Educational qualifications include a Master’s in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of British Columbia.
