Vanessa Villaverde is a Senior Program Investor at the California Health Care Foundation, focusing on investments in health and tech companies to enhance care access in California. Prior to this role, Vanessa served as Head of Risk Transfer Strategy at caresyntax, where efforts centered on developing strategies for value-based care arrangements. As Senior Director at Remedy Partners, Vanessa implemented solutions for driving value-based care through bundled payments. Vanessa's experience also includes serving as Managing Director for Federal Health Programs at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, where strategic initiatives addressed challenges in Medicare programs. With a background as Public Health Lead at MITRE, Vanessa worked on payment demonstrations for Medicare, and as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, led policy initiatives for multi-payer strategies. Vanessa holds an Executive Master's in Health Systems Administration from Georgetown University, an MPA from The University of Texas at Dallas, and a BA in Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought from Amherst College.
