Marcel Holsheimer has a diverse work experience in the field of marketing and technology. Marcel started their career as a researcher at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica from 1993 to 1995. Following this, they founded Data Distilleries, a real-time marketing technology start-up, where they served as the CEO and founder for eight years. Under their leadership, the company grew to become one of the global leaders in marketing technology. Marcel also successfully raised $25 million in two investment rounds.
In 2003, Marcel joined SPSS as the Vice President of Marketing, responsible for managing the international product marketing team and supporting the worldwide sales and field marketing operations. Marcel also oversaw SPSS's online marketing product offerings and industry-specific solutions.
In 2007, Marcel joined Unica as the Vice President of Marketing for Europe and Asia-Pacific. In this role, they built and managed international marketing operations to support the company's growth outside of North America. Marcel also initiated Unica's online marketing strategy.
Marcel then moved to IBM in 2011 and took on two roles simultaneously. Firstly, as a Marketing Executive for IBM Europe - CMO Initiative, they were responsible for the European marketing strategy and execution of IBM's CMO initiative. Secondly, as a Marketing Executive, they managed the global marketing operation for IBM's Enterprise Marketing Management division, increasing awareness and driving demand for IBM's marketing solutions worldwide.
From 2013 to 2017, Marcel served as the Vice President of Marketing EMEA at McAfee, where they led marketing efforts in the region.
In 2017, Marcel joined inSided as the Chief Marketing Officer. Marcel played a key role in building up the marketing function and helped inSided pivot its offering towards a customer success platform for B2B SaaS companies.
Most recently, in 2023, Marcel became the Chief Marketing Officer at ValueBlue, where they continue to contribute their expertise in marketing.
Marcel Holsheimer completed their Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Twente. Marcel pursued their studies from 1986 to 1992. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in "2-Day Growth Hacking Crash Course" from Growth Tribe Academy in August 2018.
