John Doherty is an experienced professional currently serving as a System Controller at Talen Energy since July 2023. With a strong background in power systems, John has held the role of Power System Controller at Valley Electric Association, Inc. since May 2017 and previously worked as a Senior Transmission System Operator at PECO Energy and as a System Operator at Exelon and PPL Electric Utilities. Earlier in their career, John was a Lineman at Verizon and President of Printing Solutions, overseeing all aspects of the business. Additional experience includes working as a Senior Technical Representative at Xerox and serving in the United States Air Force in Combat Communications. John is currently pursuing a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
