Robin van der Heijden

Senior Manager Data Science at Valcon

Robin van der Heijden has a diverse work experience in the field of data science. Robin started their career as a Research Intern at Significant in 2013, where they worked until February 2014. In 2010, they joined IB the data company as a Data Specialist and worked there until June 2014.

In 2016, Robin joined Randstad Groep Nederland as a Graduate Intern, and later transitioned to the role of Data Scientist from November 2016 to May 2017.

From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Data Scientist at Valcon, and then progressed to the role of Consultant in Data Science from January 2019 to December 2020. Robin further advanced in their career and became a Senior Consultant in Data Science from January 2021 to December 2021.

In 2021, Robin took on a leadership position as the Chairman of the Retail expert group, "Delivering AI for Business Value," in collaboration with Microsoft and Valcon at ShoppingTomorrow. Robin guided a group of Retail experts and shared their expertise in the field of Data & AI.

Currently, Robin is working at Valcon as the Manager of Data Science, starting in January 2022.

Robin van der Heijden's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Technische Bedrijfskunde from Eindhoven University of Technology, which they obtained from 2009 to 2014. In addition, they completed a Music Production and Performance (basisopleiding) course at HKU (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht) from 2009 to 2010.

Robin pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Operations Management and Logistics from Eindhoven University of Technology, completing the program from 2014 to 2016. During their studies, they also engaged in an industrial engineering and management course at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) for one year in 2015.

Robin van der Heijden has also earned several certifications to enhance their skills. Robin is a Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate, certified by Microsoft in February 2020. In May 2018, they obtained the MCSA: Machine Learning certification from Microsoft. Additionally, they have the PSM I (Professional Scrum Master) certification from Scrum.org, acquired in December 2017. Robin completed the Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp certification from Udemy in December 2017, and in March 2017, they completed the Executive Data Science Specialization from The Johns Hopkins University.
