Michael Tavares

Principal Software Engineer at Vadum

Michael Tavares has a diverse work experience that spans over three decades. Michael began their career in 1990 as a Software Engineer at Computer Dynamics, where they developed video control and flash ROM drivers. Michael then worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Broadband Technologies, where they developed code generation tools and a C++ driver framework for a fiber-based telephony system.

In 1998, Tavares joined Nortel Networks as a Senior Software Engineer, and then moved to Longboard Inc in 2000 as a Member of Technical Staff. At both companies, they contributed to software development projects.

In 2002, Tavares joined Misys as a Software Developer, and two years later, they joined Cisco as a Software Engineer IV in the SMBU division. During their time at Cisco, Tavares reduced costs and improved efficiency by implementing a TCP/UDP session management stack and spearheading unit testing in the Content Services Gateway embedded C environment. Michael also played a key role in migrating the Cisco Policy Suite codebase from subversion to Git and deploying Gerrit and Jenkins servers for code review and verification.

Currently, Tavares works at Vadum Inc. as a Staff Software Engineer, although the duration of their tenure is not specified.
