Susanne O'Brien has a diverse work experience in various scientific roles. Susanne started their career as a Laboratory project at Københavns Universitet in 2008. Susanne then worked on laboratory projects at the Medical University of Vienna in 2009. In 2010, they worked as a Research Assistant and also completed a Masters Research Project at the University of Cambridge. Susanne then joined UCL as a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher from 2013 to 2016. Susanne continued their scientific career at Immunocore, initially as a Scientist from 2016 to 2017, followed by a promotion to Senior Scientist from 2018 to 2020. In 2020, they worked as a Bank Biomedical Scientist - Covid-19 Diagnostics at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Susanne then moved to T-Cypher Bio and worked as a Senior Scientist from January 2021 to June 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Scientist at Vaccitech starting from July 2022.
Susanne O'Brien has a strong educational background in the field of science. Susanne started their educational journey in 1999 by completing their A-level exams in Chemistry at Rosensteingasse in Vienna, Austria. Building on this foundation, they pursued their Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Molecular Biology at the University of Vienna from 2005 to 2011. Determined to further their knowledge and expertise, Susanne O'Brien then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Immunology and Stem Cell Research at UCL from 2013 to 2017. With their academic accomplishments, Susanne O'Brien has developed a solid understanding of molecular biology, immunology, and stem cell research.
