Sal Devi

Senior Research Development Scientist at v2food

Sal Devi has worked in the food industry since 2014. From 2014 to 2017, Sal worked at PMFresh as a NPD Lead, where they managed account management for Woolworths, end-to-end product development, and product portfolios of premium bulk packaged salads, vegetables, sauces, dressings, dips, broth and soups. From 2017 to 2019, Sal worked at Coles Group as a Product Development Manager for meat products, where they were responsible for end-to-end product development and implementation, project management, people management, costing analysis, market reviews, identification of new trends, troubleshooting, and packaging development. Since 2019, Sal has been working at Soulfresh as a Senior Food Technologist, leading R&D projects for the local and international markets with a focus on plant-based meats, milk and kefir, and kombucha-type beverages. In 2020, Sal began working at v2food as a Senior Research Development Scientist, where they lead R&D projects, are the R&D lead for food safety, and are responsible for technology innovation.

Sal Devi obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Maths and Education from The University of the South Pacific. Sal then went on to get a Postgraduate Degree in Chemistry from the same university. In 2014, they completed their Master of Science in Food Science and Technology from the University of Melbourne. In 2019, Sal Devi obtained five certifications from SAI Global Assurance, including Allergen Management, Bussiness Continuity and Incident Management, Developing and Implementing an Approved Supplier program, Root Cause Analysis, and Shelf Life Validation, Traceability, Weight and Labelling.
