Werner Jacobs is a seasoned professional in forensic medicine and pathology, currently serving as a member of the Koninklijke Academie voor Geneeskunde van België since October 2021. As a Medical Major and Flight Surgeon for the Belgian Defence since October 2019, Werner Jacobs also holds the position of Auditor for High Studies on Security and Defence. In academia, Werner Jacobs has been a Professor of Forensic Medicine and Pathology at the University of Antwerp since October 2002 and leads the Center for Forensic Medicine at the University Hospital of Antwerp. Additionally, Werner Jacobs has been the Central Ombudsperson and Medical Coordinator at UZA since October 1995, overseeing medico-legal and forensic services. With a robust educational background, including degrees from the University of Antwerp and INSEAD, Werner Jacobs has conducted significant research contribution, particularly in tropical pathology.
