Kanta Sircar is an experienced environmental epidemiologist currently serving as Team Lead at the Asthma and Air Quality Branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since September 2004, where responsibilities include providing technical assistance on various public health topics related to asthma, air pollution, and indoor air quality. Kanta has also held positions as Acting Branch Chief and Epidemiologist within the same branch, focusing on carbon monoxide poisoning and statistical methods for study design. Additionally, Kanta's career includes impactful roles as an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer, Commander in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service, and contributions to the American Thoracic Society as Web Editor. Kanta's academic background includes a PhD in Epidemiology and a Master's in Public Health from Yale University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
