Tom Palmer has over 18 years of experience in the medical device and regulatory affairs industries. Tom began their career in 2003 as an Engineer in the United States Army Reserve, where they served in various leadership roles and was deployed to Iraq in 2004-2005. In 2010, they took on the role of Teacher at AEON Corporation, where they taught English conversation and grammar. In 2014, they joined Globizz Corp. as a Regulatory Affairs Associate, helping Japanese medical device, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, dietary supplement and food manufacturing companies achieve regulatory compliance in the United States. In 2015, they joined Cook Medical as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist II, developing strategies and preparing regulatory submissions to obtain and maintain marketing clearance in the U.S. and Japan for medical devices. From 2018 to 2022, they worked at Edwards Lifesciences as Manager, Associate Manager, and Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist. Tom is currently employed at USGI Medical as Director of Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance.
Tom Palmer has a diverse educational background. Tom obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Management & Leadership from Orange Coast College in 2006-2007. Tom then attended UC Santa Barbara and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature in 2008-2009. Tom returned to Orange Coast College and completed a Post-Baccalaureate in Biological Sciences from 2012-2014. In 2015-2017, they attended The Johns Hopkins University and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biotechnology. Additionally, they obtained a RAC-DEVICES certification from Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) in June 2019.
