Julie McPeak currently serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Insurance at USAA since April 2022. Prior to this role, Julie held positions as Senior Deputy General Counsel at Root Inc. from September 2020 to June 2022 and as a Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, LLP from June 2019 to September 2020, where Julie was a founding shareholder of the Nashville office and a member of the Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice. Julie's experience also includes serving as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance from January 2011 to June 2019, Counsel at Burr & Forman LLP from May 2008 to February 2011, Executive Director of the Kentucky Office of Insurance from July 2006 to December 2007, and General Counsel for the Kentucky Office of Insurance from September 2000 to December 2005. Julie McPeak earned a law degree from the University of Louisville School of Law between 1991 and 1994.
