Justin Liguori has a diverse work experience in the field of materials and manufacturing engineering. Justin started their career as a Materials Engineer Intern at Intel Corporation in 2001. Later, they worked as a Metallurgical Engineer at Scarrott Metallurgical Co. from 2004 to 2011.
In 2011, they joined Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) where they held multiple roles. Initially, they served as a Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer, responsible for designing and commissioning a vacuum brazing and heat treating facility for Merlin Engine production and R&D. Justin also played a key role in the development and qualification of the Merlin thrust chamber and turbomachinery. Later, they became the Materials & Processes Engineering Manager at SpaceX, establishing the first Materials and Processing (M&P) department. Justin served as the Principal M&P engineer for the Merlin engine and was the principal failure investigator for CRS-7 inflight anomaly and AMOS-6 pad anomaly.
In 2019, they joined Ursa Major Technologies as the Principal Materials and Manufacturing Engineer.
Justin Liguori holds a Master of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Arizona.
