Ben Whitehead is a Senior GSE Engineer at Ursa Major since January 2022, with prior experience as a Senior Research Engineer at Purdue University from May 2015 to January 2022. At Purdue, Ben led the Zucrow Labs altitude facility, overseeing various thruster testing projects, mentoring students in research design and execution, and contributed to payload integration for the New Shepard AF-M315E test. Previous roles include a Mechanical Engineer at Industrial Project & Design, where Ben designed tools for the production of the 2014 Corvette, and a Research Assistant focused on hybrid rocket test stands and methane transpiration cooling systems. Ben holds a Master’s Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
