As Vice President and Deputy Manager, Thomas F. Kerins, EIT, oversees the firm’s construction support services group, which includes constructability, scheduling, cost estimating and value engineering. Tom’s staff is responsible for performing detailed constructability reviews on all design documents prepared by the firm in addition to performing these reviews for non-Urban designs for numerous public and private clients.
Tom also serves as a Construction Manager on some of the largest construction and rehabilitation projects in the tri-state area including major highways, interchanges, and bridges. With over 30 years of construction experience, Tom has become the recognized expert in reviewing construction schedules for feasibility, monitoring contractors' progress on active projects, reviewing construction schedules for feasibility, monitoring contractors' progress on active projects, and identifying potential delay issues before they impact the project. He also evaluates claim issues to protect owners' interests. These reviews allow clients to realize significant cost savings by promoting construction efficiency and reducing the potential for change orders, cost overruns, disputes, and project delays during construction.
Outside of work, Tom’s time is spent with his family.
An Engineer-in-Training, Tom earned his bachelor of science (BS) in Civil Engineering/Construction Technology from Temple University. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) and the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).
