Malesa Sammy is a Battery Engineer at Urban Electric Power since February 2023, specializing in advanced battery technologies for energy storage. Previously, Malesa served as a General Chemistry Tutor at Borough of Manhattan Community College from January 2019 to May 2023 and worked as a Research Engineer at CUNY Energy Institute from March 2022 to February 2023, focusing on developing MnO2/Zn batteries for grid scale applications. Additionally, Malesa gained experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The City College of New York in early 2022, where responsibilities included synthesizing separators and analyzing battery performance using advanced analytical techniques. Malesa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from The City College of New York and an Associate's degree in Science for Forensics from Borough of Manhattan Community College.
