Gautam G. Y. serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Urban Electric Power since September 2019, where leadership is focused on the development and scaling of core technology. Previously, Gautam held roles as Senior VP of Battery Engineering and Director of Advanced Battery Development, emphasizing next-generation Zinc|Manganese Dioxide technology and zinc-anode batteries. Prior experience includes positions at the City College of New York as a Senior Research Associate and Research Associate, where work involved electrode and electrolyte development and an ARPA-E project. Gautam completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering at Purdue University, where research focused on nanostructured materials for energy applications, earning multiple high-impact publications, and also earned a BESc in Chemical Engineering from Western University.
