Lisa Fischer has extensive experience in the media industry. Lisa began their career in 1988 at USA Network & SciFi Channel as an Account Executive, where they worked until 1998. Fischer then moved to Discovery Communication as an Account Executive from 1998 to 1999. In 2000, they joined Discovery Communications again, this time as VP Advertising Sales, Eastern Region, a role they held until 2005. From 2005 to 2009, Fischer served as SVP Sales at Discovery Communications. In 2010, they joined ION Media Networks as SVP Network Advertising Sales, overseeing all sales efforts related to the National Advertising Sales team. Lisa held this position until 2014 when they became EVP National Advertising Sales at UPtv.

Lisa Fischer attended the University of South Carolina from 1980 to 1984, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Advertising and Public Relations. Lisa also earned a second Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising from the same institution. In 2019, Lisa participated in the WICT Senior Executive Summit, a program offered by the Executive Education at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
