Zabi Mahini has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. In 1996, Mahini worked as the Engineering Manager/Senior Project Engineer at Avionics Instruments, Inc., where they managed a team to develop power supplies for aircraft. From 2006 to 2007, Mahini served as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Tracewell Systems Inc., designing and developing power supplies for backplane applications. At Candela Corporation from 2007 to 2009, Mahini was responsible for all aspects of custom capacitor charging power supplies for medical laser systems. From 2010 to 2015, Mahini worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Rockwell Collins, focusing on test development, design for test initiatives, and product performance verification for various power supply designs. Mahini then served as a Sr Electrical Test Engineer at Data Devices Corp (DDC) from 2015 to 2017. At OSRAM, Mahini worked as the Principal Quality Engineer from 2017 to 2018. From 2018 to 2019, Mahini held the role of Power and Control Engineer at Colombia Tech Corp, where they studied build methods, developed work instructions, and made suggestions for improving reliability and manufacturing. Most recently, Mahini joined ePropelled in 2019 as a Power Engineer, where they set up the Quality lab, reviewed schematics and PCB layouts, and designed test procedures for power supplies and motor drivers for drones and electric cars. Currently, Mahini is a Senior Electrical Engineer at Upstart Power, Inc.

Zabi Mahini completed a Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy and Electrical Cars from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2010. It is not known when Zabi Mahini started or finished this program. Additionally, Zabi Mahini holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
