Sam Corkill has worked in various roles since 2010. Sam began their career as a Supply Chain Industrial Placement at AkzoNobel in 2010, followed by a Student Brand Manager role at the Graduate Recruitment Bureau in 2012. In the same year, they also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan. In 2013, they took on an Engineering Development Program role at Mars Petcare. From 2015-2021, they worked at Verco as a Senior Consultant and Consultant. In 2021, they began a Solutions Engineer role at KrakenFlex (formerly Upside Energy). During their time at Verco, they carried out energy and water audits of industrial and large commercial sites, as well as leading project teams and managing projects. At AkzoNobel, they worked in the Process Development Group and automated data exchanges between Access and Excel.

Sam Corkill attended Loughborough University from 2008 to 2013, where they earned a Men (Hons) (Dis) in Chemical Engineering. Prior to that, they attended King William's College from 2000 to 2008, where they earned an International Baccalaureate.
