Thorsten Werk has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Thorsten started their career as a Captain in the German Airforce from 1983 to 1993. Following this, they worked as an HR Specialist at the HARTMANN GROUP from 1996 to 2000, where they provided HR consulting services, led restructuring activities, and developed a flexible working time system. Thorsten then joined Knorr Bremse AG in 2000 as an HR Manager, where they managed various HR activities such as negotiations with workers council and trade unions, recruiting specialists and management team members, and overseeing a location merger. From 2003 to 2011, Thorsten served as the HR Manager and Change Manager at MD Papier GmbH (formerly a Myllykoski company), leading HR activities for approximately 600 employees and overseeing multiple restructuring projects. Since 2011, they have been the Head of HR at UPM Plattling, where they are responsible for HR operations and strategic management.
Thorsten Werk obtained their Master's degree in Educational Science from Bundeswehr University Munich, completing their studies from 1984 to 1987.
