Barry Madden's work experience begins in 1995 when they joined Repap as a Paper Machine Superintendent. Barry worked in this role for five years before transitioning to UPM in 2000. At UPM, Barry took on various roles including Paper Machine and Coater Superintendent, General Superintendent for Paper Mill Special Projects, Senior Researcher, R&D Innovation Manager, and Manager of IT Service Owner for Corporate Communications. In 2013, they became the Manager and Change Adoption Lead for IT Workspace Services. Alongside their corporate career, Barry also pursued their passion for photography by establishing Barry Madden Photography in 2010, where they focused on portrait photography.

Barry Madden attended the University of New Brunswick from 1980 to 1985, studying Chemical Engineering.
