Ismo Pietari has extensive experience in product development and innovation within the paper industry, currently serving as the Director of Product Development for Global Paper Laminates at UPM Raflatac since April 1997. In this role, Ismo Pietari oversees the global Product Development organization, fostering a culture of Innovation Excellence. Previous positions include Director of Product Development for the Paper Business EMEIA, where coordination of development in global projects was key, and Director of Global R&D, focusing on strategic project development and collaboration with allied trades. Earlier career experience includes a role as a Development Manager and Development Engineer, leading R&D laboratory operations, and a position as a Researcher at VTT, where Ismo Pietari specialized in test methods for paper properties. Ismo Pietari holds a Master of Science degree in paper making, paper converting, and international marketing from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan.
