Lily Young has a diverse background in education and government. Lily currently works at Upduo as the Curriculum Lead, where they focus on driving business outcomes and delivering customized trainings to clients. Prior to this, they had a long tenure with the Dixon Unified School District, holding various roles such as Tier 3 Intervention Program Coordinator, Department Chair, Mentor Teacher, Bilingual Social Science and AVID Teacher, and Summer School Co-Administrator. Lily also worked as a Legislative Representative for the California Department of Education and as an Executive Fellow in the Capital Fellows Program.

Lily Young's education history shows that they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Latin American and Latino Studies and a minor in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Lily attended this institution from 2004 to 2008.

In 2012, Lily Young pursued further education at the University of California, Davis - School of Education, where they obtained a Masters of Arts degree in Education. Lily also obtained various certifications during their time at the university, including Single Subject Teaching Credentials in Social Science and English, as well as a Teacher Certification in Bilingual Education with a focus on Spanish.

In 2010, Lily Young obtained a Graduate Certificate in Applied Policy and Government from California State University-Sacramento.

Lastly, in 2017, Lily Young obtained an Administrative Services Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
