Ben Allen currently serves as the Director of ESG Issues at Principles for Responsible Investment since August 2023. Prior to this role, Ben held various positions at the Institute for European Environmental Policy from September 2010 to July 2023, culminating as Research Director, where oversight of research work aimed at advancing relevant policy issues was a key responsibility. Ben's previous experience includes roles at Natural England from April 2005 to September 2010, including Executive Director and Specialist in Land Management Policy, focusing on land use conflict, climate change, and agri-environment policy. Ben also worked as Senior External Affairs Officer at the National Trust and was involved in land records systems development at Bury MBC. Educational qualifications include a BSc(hons) in Environmental Biology from The University of Manchester and a PhD in Spatial Ecology from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
