Joaquin Varela

Joaquin Varela has a diverse work experience that spans several positions and industries. Joaquin started their career in 2014 as a Web & Mobile App Developer at Audiodes, where they developed a web page and mobile application for the Uruguayan International Airport. In 2015, they worked as a BCI Tech. Developer at Kinamic, creating desktop apps using a Brain Computer Interface technology.

In 2016, Joaquin joined NetSuite as a SuiteCommerce Developer and Consultant, where they worked on projects for clients such as American Express - Global Business Travel and Snap Inc. Joaquin utilized a variety of technologies including JavaScript, jQuery, Backbone, and NodeJs.

The following year, in 2017, they interned at Amazon as a Software Web Developer, where they built a learning terminal application to assist new managers.

In 2018, Joaquin headed two ventures. Joaquin co-founded CreateThrive, a software solutions and consulting services company based in Uruguay. Additionally, they became the CEO and Co-Founder of UnlockCommerce, a company specializing in developing high-performing SuiteCommerce sites for clients.

Throughout their career, Joaquin has demonstrated their skills as a developer and consultant, working with various technologies and delivering tailored software solutions to clients.

Joaquin Varela holds an Engineer's degree in Systems Engineering from Universidad ORT Uruguay, which they obtained from 2012 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Físico Matemático Bachillerato Internacional (IB) at The British Schools, Montevideo, spanning from 1997 to 2011. In addition, they spent a year as an Exchange Student at the University of Kent in 2015-2016, focusing on Computer Science. Joaquin also has certifications as a NetSuite Certified SuiteCommerce Developer from NetSuite in 2017 and in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from Coursera in 2015.
