Sydney J. is currently a Ph.D. Research Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and serves as a Research Scientist Engineer 2 and Team Lead of Library Preparation at the University of Washington. Within Dr. Nickerson’s Lab and the Northwest Genomics Center, Sydney J. contributes to library construction for next-generation sequencing by processing diverse input sample types. Previous experience includes roles at Hawaii Poké Bowl focusing on quality control and customer service, a Bacteriology Laboratory Technician at Iowa State University's Veterinary Medical School handling high-throughput cases, and various positions at Iowa State University involving teaching assistance and research in microbiology. Sydney J. holds a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Iowa State University and has also engaged in educational activities at the University of Botswana Gaborone.
