Tanya Machin

Associate Dean, Learning & Teaching at University of Southern Queensland

Tanya Machin is the current Associate Dean, Learning & Teaching at University of Southern Queensland. Tanya has previous experience as an Inpatient Group Facilitator at St. Andrews Hospital, Toowoomba from February 2010 to January 2013. During their time there, they facilitated psycho-educational groups for inpatients, as well as provided individual follow-up sessions for those patients who requested more information and detail. Tanya also facilitated carer information groups and one-on-one sessions with family members as required. From January 1995 to December 2003, they were a Classroom music teacher at Darling Downs Christian School where they taught all students enrolled in Years 4-7 basic music skills and theory as part of the school's curriculum. This involved assessment and reporting of students, as well as conducting public performances in Toowoomba and Gatton. Tanya has also worked as a Branch Manager at Westpac from July 2002 to February 2010, and as a Customer Service Representative at Westpac from July 1984 to July 1991.

Tanya Machin completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Honours in Psychology at the University of Southern Queensland, followed by Ipswich State High School.

They are on a team with Jill Lawrence - Head of School, Humanities & Communication, Andrea Lamont-Mills - Associate Dean, Research, and Marita Basson - Associate Dean, Learning, Teaching & Student Success. Tanya Machin reports to Glen Coleman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs.
