Verity Firth currently serves as Vice-President for Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement at UNSW, beginning in February 2024. Firth holds positions as Deputy Chair of the James Martin Institute for Public Policy and as a member of the Global Steering Committee for the Talloires Network of Engaged Universities since 2021. As a board member for Teachers Mutual Bank Limited and The Front Project, Firth contributes to governance and strategic direction. Firth is also the Chair of Engagement Australia as of March 2024. Previous roles include Pro Vice-Chancellor of Social Justice and Inclusion and Executive Director of Social Justice at the University of Technology Sydney, along with serving as Chief Executive of the Public Education Foundation Ltd and Minister for Education and Training at the NSW Department of Education and Communities. Firth’s education includes a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a degree in Arts/Law from the University of Sydney.
