Damian da Silva

Senior Service/ux Design Lead at University of Melbourne

Damian Da Silva's work experience begins in 2007 at Rothsay & Durali International, where they worked as a Digital Designer, creating multimedia projects. In 2008, they joined Telstra's Chief Technology Office as a Digital Designer/Interaction Designer, responsible for user experience design and interactive applications. Damian also produced video presentations during their time there. In 2009, Damian joined Huddle Design as a Service Designer/UX Designer/Digital Designer, where they built video productions, animations, managed Wordpress sites, and handled interactive prototypes. In 2012, they had a short-term contract with Telstra as a UX Specialist/Service Designer/Digital Designer, analyzing customer life cycles and producing journey maps. Damian also completed a video presentation for user experience workshops. Damian then worked at Channel 1 Creative Media as an Online eLearning Producer/UX Designer/Digital Designer, where they built eLearning modules, designed motion graphics, and edited videos. In 2013, they returned to nbnâ„¢ Australia as a Lead UX Specialist, managing a team responsible for user journeys, prototyping, and wireframing. Damian also supported the UX and Design integrity manager. In 2017, they became the Experience Design Manager at AGL Energy, leading a team of UI and UX designers, managing projects, and resolving issues. Damian returned to nbnâ„¢ Australia in 2018 as a Service Designer, working on HR tech experiences and platform solutions. Most recently, they have held roles at the University of Melbourne, starting with Service Design Lead and currently holding the position of Senior Service UX Design Lead.

Damian Da Silva holds a Bachelor of Design (Multimedia Design) degree from Swinburne University of Technology, which they earned between 2001 and 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Graduate Diploma of Teaching in Secondary Education and Teaching from The University of Melbourne in 2000. Damian also holds a Bachelor of Design degree in Ceramic Design from Monash University, which they completed between 1993 and 1997. Damian has also earned a certification on "John Maeda on Design, Business, and Inclusion" from LinkedIn in 2017.
