Simone Niclou

Vice-Rector for Research at University of Luxembourg

Simone P. Niclou currently serves as the Vice-Rector for Research at the University of Luxembourg, beginning in March 2023, where responsibilities include shaping the vision and strategy for research activities across the institution. Prior experience includes roles as Department Director at the Luxembourg Institute of Health from April 2008 to March 2023, and leadership positions in neuro-oncology research, such as Head of the NorLux Neuro-Oncology Laboratory and member of the management board of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology. Simone P. Niclou has held academic positions including Adjunct Professor at the University of Bergen and has a research background that includes work as a Senior Researcher at CRP-Santé and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. Educational qualifications comprise a Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from the University of Basel and a Master’s degree in Biology from Université de Fribourg.
