Digvir Jayas currently serves as the President and Vice Chancellor at The University of Lethbridge since July 2023 and has held the position of Vice-President (Research and International) at the University of Manitoba since January 2011. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Agricultural Engineering, specializing in Grain Drying, obtained from the University of Saskatchewan (1982-1987), a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering with a focus on Grain Storage and Preservation from the University of Manitoba (1980-1982), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (1974-1980). Early education was completed at Sri Braj Adarsh Inter College, where a Grade 12 diploma in Physical Sciences was earned from 1965 to 1974.
