Letlhokwa Mpedi serves as the Vice Chancellor & Principal at the University of Johannesburg, holding various leadership roles since October 2006, including Deputy Vice Chancellor: Academic and Professor. Mpedi has a strong academic background with multiple titles in the Faculty of Law, such as Executive Dean and Head of Department, and has also contributed to the Centre for International & Comparative Labour & Social Security Law (CICLASS). Prior to this, Mpedi worked as a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Social Law in Germany and held researcher roles at Rand Afrikaans University. Educational qualifications include an LLD from the University of Johannesburg and an Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme from Saïd Business School, along with ongoing studies at Harvard Kennedy School.
