Imani Spence

Student Success Librarian at University of Houston

Imani Spence is an accomplished Arts and Culture Reporter at The Baltimore Banner since April 2022, bringing a diverse background in communication and media studies. Previously, Imani served as an Americorps Vista at Bedtime in a Box and the Maryland Out of School Time Network, along with experience as a Radio Producer for the Marc Steiner Show. Additional roles include a Program Specialist Intern at the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education, where event coordination and communication were primary responsibilities, and various internships focusing on marketing and social media within educational and creative contexts. Imani holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Maryland, as well as Bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Media Studies and English Communication from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
