Lawrence P. Ward, EdD, currently serves as President of the University of Hartford since July 2024 and is also a Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, teaching doctoral-level courses on leadership and crisis management. Previous roles include Vice President for Learner Success & Dean of Campus Life at Babson College, where significant contributions were made to student success and the overall quality of the student experience from July 2014 to June 2024, and Associate Dean for Academic Programs at American University’s Kogod School of Business from 2001 to 2014, overseeing multiple academic and student service initiatives. Early career experiences encompass leadership positions in training and development at Professional Resource Services and student affairs at the University of Michigan, along with a background in marketing with Aetna. Ward holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts in Higher Education from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
