Dilshad A. Haleem's work experience includes roles at various universities and organizations. From 2019 to the present, they have been serving as Vice President at the University of Duhok, after working as Dean from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they were an Adjunct Professor at The American University of Kurdistan from 2018 to 2020. Dilshad A. also worked as a Consultant at Middle East for Monitoring and Evaluation and Consultancy Services from 2014 to 2019. Before that, they were a PhD Student at The University of Sheffield from 2011 to 2016 and an International Office Ambassador there from 2011 to 2016. In addition, they worked as a Lecturer at the University of Duhok from 2008 to 2011 and as a Training Specialist at USAID from 2006 to 2008.

Dilshad A. Haleem completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering at The University of Sheffield from 2011-2015. Prior to that, Dilshad earned a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a school in Kurdistan Region, Iraq from 2004-2008. Dilshad also holds a certification in Advance Training of Trainer (TOT) from USAID.
